I feel discriminated against. To whom can I report this?

Discrimination – meaning the exclusion of people on any grounds whatsoever – is not permitted. Therefore, the position of People 21 and its affiliated parties (hereinafter: People 21) is: we do not discriminate. We are also alert to potential discriminatory requests from clients, as we do not cooperate with them.

Do you nevertheless feel that you have been discriminated against? We regret to hear that! You can raise this with your contact person within People 21. That person will always take your complaint seriously and – if necessary – discuss it with their supervisor.

Anti-discrimination Statement People 21

Equal opportunities for everyone

Everyone deserves equal opportunities to find and keep a great job.

Discrimination? We simply do not participate in it!

People 21 is committed to equal treatment for everyone and to a diverse personnel policy. We strictly adhere to this conviction when recruiting and selecting candidates.

The anti-discrimination statement of People 21

• We do not accept discriminatory requests from clients;

• We do not support or facilitate discrimination;

• We provide our employees with clear instructions and training on how to handle discriminatory requests;

• We bring diversity to the attention of our clients to create awareness;

• The theme of discrimination is constantly on the agenda.

Grounds for discrimination

Discrimination involves the exclusion of people from vacancies based on non-relevant criteria. A discriminatory request from a client can be very explicit, but also implicit, for example, by setting requirements for candidates that are unnecessarily high and/or not relevant to the position. People 21’s position is aligned with the law and states that discriminatory requests may never be honored.

Our employees also do not recognize every discriminatory request and sometimes unconsciously go along with a client’s wish, as ignorance often plays a role. It happens that People 21 employees identify a discriminatory request while performing their duties. For example, when they receive a vacancy indicating an age limit or if a man or woman is specifically requested. In such cases, we will inform our clients about what is and is not permitted. In doing so, we explain that we always select candidates based on their competencies to make the ideal match.

No to discrimination, yes to diversity

People 21 says no to discrimination and yes to diversity! Diversity means more variety in the workplace in terms of nationality, gender, sexual orientation, and age, among other things. Additionally, diversity can be present through differences in work experience, cultural background, and knowledge.

A diverse workforce offers added value for your company because, among other things, it:

• Provides a larger talent pool. If a variety of people are welcome in your company, the advantage is that you are fishing in a larger pool of talent.

• Leads to more innovation. The innovative ideas required for this are found more quickly if your team consists of diverse people. They often possess different knowledge and ways of thinking.

• Leads to better (business) results.

A diverse workforce includes employees who possess different knowledge, experience, competencies, and ways of thinking. This allows them to complement each other excellently, leading to better (business) results.

Diversity pays off! Let’s work together to ensure that everyone truly gets equal opportunities. If you have a question, complaint, or wish to report discrimination, you can contact us via info@people21.eu.
